We try to incorporate environmentally conscientious practices into all our business activities. Here are a few examples:
-
Unless otherwise requested, we haul away all debris from the jobsite. None of the yard waste we generate is taken to a landfill. All debris, including grass clippings, leaves and wood waste is either composted or recycled at one of several local commercial sites.
-
We utilize the newest, most fuel efficient equipment currently available. All our equipment exceeds the current EPA emissions standards.
-
Our personnel have expertise in creating landscapes that minimize or eliminate the need for irrigation. When watering of plants is necessary, we can provide rain barrel system installation to utilize rain water collected from your downspouts to irrigate your yard. These systems not only eliminate the need to use potable water for irrigation, but also divert storm water ("grey water") from entering combined storm and sanitary sewer systems, which are a common occurrence in older municipalities.
-
We can in providing organic fertilization and pest control solutions for projects and clients with an interest in avoiding traditional chemicals. We work with a local supplier that provides industrially processed organic compost, made from bio-solids obtained from sewage treatment plants. These materials are an excellent source of nutrients for gardening.
-
Utilizing native plants in your landscape is an excellent way to promote the naturally occurring ecosystem in a geographic region and they are sure to thrive in your yard with minimal maintenance. Our personnel can help you select native plants that are best suited to the conditions in your yard.
